What once began as a vision – a space for innovation, collaboration and sustainable development - is now reality: the NEUMO Ehrenberg Campus.
Since the first thoughts in 2018, it has developed into more than just a construction project: a space for the future. This is where extensive connections are made between people, visions and opportunities.
Building 7 was completed between November 2024 and January 2025. It comprises the new administration building and component warehouse. The infrastructure that supports the entire campus is clearly tangible.
Safety and sustainability went hand in hand from the very beginning.
Underground cisterns were installed – one holding around 50,000 liters for irrigation, and another with an impressive 500,000 liters as a reserve for fire protection.
At the same time, a carefully planned concept for state-of-the-art energy and water management was developed. Not a coincidence, but a deliberate and responsible strategy: renewable energy – especially photovoltaics – now covers up to 40 % of the campus energy needs.
This wasn’t just about building, but about forward-thinking design for a campus built with the future in mind.
Construction began in December 2020 – right in the middle of winter, with heavy machinery and precise execution. A massive concrete slab reinforced with around 1,000 tons of steel formed the foundation for an impressive structure: 23,000 m² of enclosed space and 3,000 m² of usable area. Just seven months later, in July 2021, the project was completed and ready for use, a powerful example of efficient planning and execution.
In March 2020, as spring arrived outside, the foundation was laid for a special project: Building 6 – a modern tube warehouse with integrated office and social spaces.
Soon, on a massive concrete slab reinforced with around 600 tons of steel, an impressive structure began to take shape: 25,000 m² of enclosed space and approximately 2,800 m² of usable area – built for efficiency and growth.
In June 2020, installation of the KASTO long-bar high-bay storage system began, the heart of the new facility.
Completed in December 2020 and officially commissioned in January 2021, the building was put into operation.
Tonnes of earth were moved, kilometres of pipes laid, huge cisterns created for rainwater and extinguishing water. The result was not just a building, but a system – well thought-out, efficient, regenerative. Building construction started in February 2020, in the middle of a turbulent world influenced by the Covid-pandemic. But we stayed on course.
Discussions, drafts, decisions – not always easy, but always driven by the goal of creating something special. In 2019, the decision was made in favour of a campus model: open, capable of growth, sustainable. Not a single building, but a centrepiece for NEUMO. The visible transformation began with the ground-breaking ceremony in September 2019.
The decision was made in May 2019. 32,000 square metres of future. The project was given a name and the idea convinced the Ehrenberg family. The way was clear and the first test drillings followed.
It started with an idea – quiet yet full of power: what if we could create a place that not only offers space for innovation, but also connects people, enables the future and translates our values into architecture and technology?
This idea took shape in the summer of 2018. Initial discussions, initial doubts, but also initial determination. They searched, scrutinised, planned – and found a piece of land in Knittlingen that promised more than just space: vision could take root here.
