flexible and hygienic connection technology
BioConnect® combines maximum flexibility with the highest level of hygiene safety. This connection technology allows for two sealing options – either with an elastomer or a purely metallic CleanLip®-seal. It is possible to switch between the two at any time without changing the existing flange connection. Designed to meet cGMP requirements, BioConnect® ensures virtually no dead space, excellent CIP/SIP cleanability, and is available in a high-pressure version rated PN100 up to DN40. With minimal media contact, controlled elastomer compression, and a unique expansion chamber design, the system delivers optimal hygiene, reduced maintenance, and lower total cost of ownership — making it the ideal solution for modern and future-proof process connections.
The BioConnect system represents intelligent engineering and seamless adaptability for demanding hygienic process environments. Based on a unified technology platform, it supports three connection types — elastomer, metallic, and CleanLip sealing — enabling straightforward integration into existing systems. This flexible design allows users to upgrade to the metallic CleanLip seal at any time without altering the original flange connection. The future-oriented concept ensures long-term compatibility, reduces downtime, and minimizes maintenance costs. Designed for maximum process safety, BioConnect meets cGMP standards and features an almost dead-space-free construction. Its excellent cleanability supports CIP/SIP procedures, and the system is available in high-pressure variants rated up to PN100 for sizes up to DN40.

BioConnect® is engineered to offer maximum technical flexibility and long-term process safety. Depending on process requirements, it can be used with a chambered elastomer sealing or upgraded to the stainless-steel-based CleanLip seal — allowing seamless adaptation to specific system conditions at any time. The smart design minimizes contact between the process medium and elastomer surfaces, significantly improving hygiene and product purity. Elastomer compression is precisely controlled by a metallic stop and a fully defined sealing chamber, ensuring consistent, long-lasting performance. An integrated expansion chamber on the media-remote side defines the elastomer’s expansion volume and eliminates pressure on the product side, preventing any risk of elastomer intrusion into the product flow. Combined with excellent cleanability (CIP/SIP), BioConnect® ensures safe and hygienic operation even under the most demanding process conditions.
BioConnect® offers clear economic advantages by helping to reduce maintenance costs and system downtimes. Its intelligent, hygienic design minimizes the risk of process disturbances and enables flexible production with short, efficient CIP/SIP cleaning cycles. The result is optimized plant availability, lower operating expenses, and significant potential to reduce the total cost of ownership — especially in high-purity and regulated environments.

BioConnect® gives users the flexibility to choose between a chambered elastomer seal for standard hygienic applications and the innovative CleanLip® stainless steel sealing element for maximum hygiene, durability, and process safety. CleanLip® offers a completely elastomer-free solution with superior resistance to high temperatures and aggressive media. Please note: CleanLip® is exclusively available for flange connections within the BioConnect® system.

The BioConnect® product is manufactured from high-quality stainless steel (1.4435 / 316L), offering outstanding durability and excellent corrosion resistance for demanding process environments. The product-contact surface is precision-turned to a roughness of Ra < 0.8 µm, ensuring optimal hygiene, easy cleanability, and compliance with industry standards for high-purity applications.

BioConnect® features orbital welding ends that comply with DIN11866 in all major variants: line A (DIN), line B (ISO), and line C (ASME-BPE). This ensures seamless integration into a wide range of international process systems. Certified by TÜV component testing, TA-Air, and EHEDG (Doc. 01 cleanability test), BioConnect® meets the highest standards for hygienic design and is fully suitable for use in regulated, high-purity environments.

BioConnect® is manufactured from robust 1.4435 / 316L stainless steel with precision-turned surfaces (Ra < 0.8 µm), making it ideal for hygienic and high-purity applications. The system uses EPDM sealing elements compliant with FDA and USP Class VI, and also supports PTFE or CleanLip options for enhanced temperature resistance and media compatibility. Rated for pressures up to PN16 (DN50 / 2") and PN10 (from DN65 / 2½"), BioConnect® operates reliably between −10 °C and +150 °C – or up to +200 °C when using PTFE or CleanLip seals. With a delta ferrite content of < 1%, the material meets stringent industry requirements for purity and structural integrity.

For seamless system integration, BioConnect® is equipped with orbital welding ends compliant with DIN11866 standards – including line A (DIN), line B (ISO), and line C (ASME-BPE). This guarantees compatibility with international hygienic piping systems. The product is TÜV-tested and EHEDG-certified (cleanability test), confirming its suitability for regulated, sterile, and hygienic environments where quality and compliance are critical.

BioConnect® is made from high-grade 1.4435 / 316L stainless steel with a precision-turned surface finish (Ra < 0.8 µm), ensuring hygienic and easy-to-clean contact areas. The sealing system uses FDA- and USP Class VI-compliant EPDM, with optional PTFE or CleanLip sealing elements for advanced chemical and thermal resistance. The system withstands pressures up to PN16 and operates reliably from –10 °C to +150 °C — or up to +200 °C with PTFE O-rings. With a delta ferrite content of less than 1%, BioConnect® meets stringent purity and hygienic requirements for high-performance process environments.
