At NEUMO in Knittlingen, we specialize in the design and manufacturing of customized heat exchangers made of stainless steel and high-performance special alloys. All units are tailored precisely to the customer’s process requirements and built in accordance with recognized international standards.

With over 40 years of engineering experience, we offer complete in-house services—including thermal calculation, mechanical sizing, 3D design, and fabrication. Upon request, we conduct on-site evaluations of existing systems to ensure optimal integration and performance.

Maximum Safety and Performance

NEUMO aseptic heat exchangers are engineered to guarantee absolute separation between primary and secondary media. This is achieved by integrating a double tubesheet design, eliminating the risk of cross-contamination and ensuring full compliance with the strictest hygiene standards in pharmaceutical, biotech, and food processing applications.

The sterile primary medium flows through seamless tubes, while cooling or heating is provided by the secondary medium in a surrounding chamber. Each exchanger is custom-built, precisely aligned with your process parameters. Even at low flow rates, adjustable tube lengths and quantities deliver maximum thermal efficiency.

To prevent stress cracking due to thermal expansion, the outer shell is equipped with a flexible stainless-steel bellow section, ensuring both mechanical safety and long-term durability in demanding sterile process environments.

Construction

NEUMO aseptic heat exchangers are custom-engineered for each application, ensuring full compliance with your individual process requirements. The modular tube configuration allows for capacity optimization through adjustable tube lengths and numbers, delivering top performance even at low flow rates.

To eliminate the risk of stress corrosion cracking caused by differential thermal expansion, the outer housing is equipped with a highly flexible stainless steel bellow section. This ensures maximum mechanical integrity, long service life, and operational reliability in sterile process environments.

Design Conditions

NEUMO heat exchangers are built to operate safely under demanding conditions. The tubeside and shellside are designed for pressures from –1 bar (vacuum) to 10 bar, and each unit is pressure-tested to 15 bar for maximum safety and reliability.

Temperature handling is equally robust: both sides withstand temperatures down to –10 °C, while the tubeside supports up to 150 °C and the shellside allows for temperatures up to 200 °C, ensuring excellent thermal efficiency across a wide range of aseptic process applications.

For high-temperature processes (around 150 °C and above), appropriate gasket materials are essential to maintain sealing integrity and long-term performance!
