The material 1.4529 is a highly alloyed, austenitic stainless steel grade often referred to as a "super austenitic" steel. It contains high levels of nickel (in addition to chromium and molybdenum), which gives it excellent corrosion resistance in extremely corrosive environments such as saline solutions and chemical media. 1.4529 is frequently used in the chemical industry, offshore applications, and other demanding environments where maximum corrosion resistance is required.
