1.4539 / 904 L

The material 1.4539 is an austenitic stainless steel known for its excellent corrosion resistance in extremely aggressive environments. This alloy contains a high proportion of nickel (24–26%), chromium (19–21%), molybdenum (4–5%), and small amounts of copper (1–1.5%), making it particularly resistant to acids and chloride-containing media. 1.4539 is commonly used in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries as well as in seawater desalination, as it is non-magnetic and offers good mechanical properties at elevated temperatures.
